Line Voltage Thermostats - Do I Need One?

When you are preparing to install a line voltage thermostat, make sure your home is compatible with this type of system, as incorrect thermostat installment can lead to fire! If this thermostat is best for you, and you aren’t sure which one to choose, this page contains everything you need to know, so read on! Normally line voltage thermostats use 240 volts of power, but there are occasional older line voltage models which use 120 volts. The voltage power is connected to the heater directly through the line voltage thermostat causing it to turn on or off through thick wires. These thermostats have to carry the full current drawn by the heater. These are not to be confused with low voltage thermostats or used with gas heating systems
