I saw this at willamson-sonoma and thought would be nice to have in addition to my machine so I could do coffee while frothing and not have to switch over while the coffee cooled... fantastic quick easy and good. I rinse out the top and use a wet paper towel to clean to avoid getting the bottom wet. and simply let it dry on the rack to be sure. so good am getting one for my neice's anniversary. a bit pricy but worth the ease.

I am fan of Nespresso. I own their espresso maker and love it. I personally drink only black espresso myself, but for those of my friends and family that like some frothed milk action, this is the gadget. Previously, I had a handheld frother, but the disadvantage of this was that the froth was usually not heated. This machine froths and heats and impresses everyone! It is also supremely easy to clean. I recommend it!

This machine is phenomenal for frothing milk and is perfect for cappuccinos. Negative reviews mention two main issues: the unit itself burning out and burnt milk or milk scum inside the unit (on the bottom). I've used the aeroccino for several months and here's what I've learned about burnt-out units & milk scum.
1. The base unit does not turn off, so you have to unplug it after each use or it will burn out.
2. The froth setting determines the amount of milk scum you will get on the bottom of the machine. The latte setting creates a lot of scum -- there's no way around it -- especially if you use whole milk. The cappuccino setting produces very little scum (if any).
3. If you keep the base unit plugged in and the finished milk on the base unit, you will end up with burnt milk in your unit. If you unplug the base unit and use your milk fairly quickly, you won't have a mess.
4. The froth is best when used immediately. Even a mere 10 seconds noticeably changes the texture of the froth and how it pours out.
5. If you use the frother successively to make multiple cappuccinos you will have milk scum issues on the bottom of your frother - the only way around this is to thoroughly rinse out the unit between frothing.
6. This unit is worth the money if you love frothed milk; if you're content with hot milk and don't need froth then it's faster to microwave milk in a jug for 20 seconds (and a lot cheaper).
