Conception is an essential part of success in pregnancy, but is often denied the attention it deserves when preparing for baby.

When is the best time to conceive?

  • From a physiological perspective, the best time to conceive is when you are fertile.

    You are fertile around ovulation which occurs approximately 14 days before menses in women who have 28 day cycles. However, cycles of 24 to35 days are considered normal (Williams, 2001).

    You will be able to determine your fertility by observing thickening (increased viscosity) in vaginal mucous which facilitates the movement of sperm.
